Minimum Charge per job is $100  ( includes up to 18 items / tests / tags ) 

  • 19 – 200 items $5.50 per test / tag
  • Over 200 items $5.00 per test / tag
  • RCD ( portable ) and surge protected power board testing from $3.50 per point. E.g 4 outlet powerboard would be $14.
  • 3 phase items – $7.50 per test
  • RCD Fixed – $7.50 per point

*Please note that some items require multiple tests, e.g Desktop Computers have a Hard Drive, Monitor and two IEC power cords to test for one PC.

Plug and/or socket replacement including fitting

  • 10 amp single phase plug $20 each.
  • 10 amp single phase socket $25 each. 
  • 15 amp single phase plug $20 each.
  • 15 amp single phase socket $25 each.

*Please note that the above plug and socket replacement costs are for standard duty cable. Plugs and Sockets to fit Heavy Duty and Extra Heavy Duty cable will be quoted when required.


We will require one car parking spot onsite for the duration of our visit. Our parking costs will be added in our final invoice if a car parking space cannot be provide by our client.

Kilometres traveled over a 30km radius from Mulgrave 3170 are charged at $1 per km there and back plus any Etag fees.

You have a duty of care under the common law and OH&S Act to ensure that the equipment or appliance is safe.

Yes, Hart’s Test And Tag Melbourne are nationally accredited testers. We provide an on-site test and tag service in Melbourne and surrounding areas. We are fully insured and compliant with current AS/NZS 3760:2010 standards.

We also hold a current White Card. This is the Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry CPCCWHS1001′ training course. Holding a valid White Card means that we have completed official, certified general construction induction training with a registered organisation within Australia.

No, we are not a shopfront. We come to you at your worksite, home or office location.

Between 15 – 20 items per hour can be properly tested, tagged and logged. This is dependent on site and appliance locations. Are all the items that need to be tested and tagged in one room location or spread across multiple buildings or floors?  This includes a visual inspection of each item, testing, tagging and electronic recording of results.

We provide tap and go payments if you would like to pay onsite after job completion, attracts a 2% merchant fee. EFT or Credit Card invoices can be emailed. Please note that credit card invoice payments sent via email attracts a 2% merchant fee on top of our price.

The appliance or lead that fails the visual inspection or electrical test must be removed from service and tagged with an appropriate out of service or warning tag so that the item is not used until it is fixed or replaced. New or repared items must then be re-tested and tagged.

For the most common environments, we recommend the following frequencies:

  • 3 months: building, construction and demolition
  • 6 months: factories, warehouses and production
  • 12 months: an environment where the equipment/supply cord is prone to flexing or open to abuse
  • 24 months: an environment where the equipment/supply cord is not prone to flexing or open to abuse

We operate 7 days a week and after business hours when required. All our bookings are made with you at a mutual agreeable time to fit in with both of our schedules.

  1. We perform a visual inspection of the lead or appliance. ( the lead or appliance can fail at this early stage of the test )
  2. We electrically test the lead or appliance.
  3. We record the results of the electrical test.
  4. We tag the lead or appliance with the details of the re-test date.
